Schorl Crystal Specimen – NAM 004

Measurements:  110 x 90 x 70 mm

Description:  A group of schorl crystals with the biggest one having lovely termination facets. The specimen displays well on a flat surface, at a slight angle.  Some small bits of white feldspar attached.

Relatively little damage, only a few nicks and contact marks at the bottom.

Weight of Specimen:  672 g

Chemical Composition:  NaFe²⁺₃Al₆Si₆O₁₈(BO₃)₃(OH)₄            

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  7.5

Location:  Erongo Mountains, Erongo Region, Namibia.
