Smoky cathedral quartz with tourmaline, on matrix

Measurements:  220 x 200 x 130 mm

Description:  A big specimen consisting of smoky cathedral quartz crystals sitting on a quartz matrix (which has a few facets) and a few pieces of tourmaline embedded in the quartz.

Some of the edges of the crystallized area is damaged.

Weight of Specimen:  Appr. 4.5 kg

                                        Na(Li,Al)3Al6(BO3)3Si6O18(OH)4  (tourmaline)

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (quartz)  7
