Amethyst Quartz Crystal Group – NC 006

Measurements:  60 x 48 x 38 mm

Description:  A group of quartz crystals with shallow amethyst phantoms and bits of feldspar, mostly at the bottom of the specimen. 

The terminations have a few small nicks.

Weight of Specimen:  87.8 g

Chemical Composition:  SiO₂  (quartz)                                         
                                        KAlSi₃O₈ (feldspar)

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (quartz) 7                                            
                                            (feldspar)  6 - 6.5

Location:  Orange River area, Northern Cape, South Africa.
