'Citrine' Quartz Crystals on Matrix OTH 007

Cobaltoan dolomite crystals on rock matrix

Measurements:  78 x 53 x 22 mm

Description:  Beautiful citrine quartz crystals sit on a thin basalt matrix. 

The crystals were originally amethyst, but the specimen was then baked at a high temperature (roughly 400 degrees C) for about half a day, which turned the colour to citrine.  

The only notable damage is to the edges of the specimen.
