(?)Dolomite Stalactite - TS 001

Measurements:  105 x 40 x 33 mm

Description:  A dolomite (or possibly calcite) stalactite consisting of minute crystals with some small, clear calcite crystals and small clusters of mottramite. 

Some of the stalactites have some damage.

Weight of Specimen:  76.8 g

Chemical Composition:  CaMg(CO₃)₂  (dolomite) 
                                         CaCO₃  (calcite)
                                        PbCu(VO₄)(OH)  (mottramite) 

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (dolomite)  3.5 - 4
                                          (calcite)  3
                                          (mottramite)  3 - 3.5

Location:  Tsumeb, Northern Namibia.
