The Western
Cape,
with Cape
Town
as its capital city, is a
scenic, mountainous
province with an equally beautiful coastline.
The
sandstone mountains
have a granite basin. Clear and milky quartz crystal pockets are found
in numerous
areas, with the Ceres, Worcester and Villiersdorp areas yielding lovely
specimens. Some of these specimens are double terminated, with clear
and
coloured phantoms and other inclusions.
Vredendal, Villiersdorp, Worcester and
Ceres (the latter two both about 120 km from Cape Town)
are beautiful areas.
Nestled
between the Cape
fold mountains,
these areas
deliver beautiful and unusual quartz specimens.
Below we
have a selection
of crystals from these lesser known areas. All the specimens
on this page have been mined by ourselves.
